Honored to be Honored

2016 has been an eventful year for Ideaphora, with the launch (out of beta) of our online concept mapping environment for individuals and for classrooms as well as additional investment from our partner, BrainPOP®. Now, Ideaphora is being honored for distinction among its edtech peers.

2016 T&L AwardsofExc large.jpgIdeaphora has earned the Award of Excellence in the New Products category from Tech & Learning magazine. A panel of educators reviewed the hundreds of entries to select the winners, recognizing products that are the most innovative and highest quality. Ideaphora Classroom will be featured in the publication’s December/January print and digital issue.

Additionally, Ideaphora has been recognized by Digital Promise for our efforts to create research-based education technology. Digital Promise put out a call to find exemplary uses of research in the design and development of edtech products, and we answered it. You can read the full background on the research basis of our platform in the white paper, The Science Behind Ideaphora.

These recognitions are a testament to our development process of working closely with educators to deliver a product that meets their needs and to our product as an effective learning platform for fostering students’ critical thinking skills and deepening their knowledge.

But, what truly motivates us is the feedback we get from students and educators, like fifth grade teacher Daria Roulett, who had this to say about Ideaphora’s technology: “Everyone was motivated and having fun and figuring something out. Each student was deriving meaning and understanding in their own way. Students all have different strengths and weaknesses, and the tool was able to tap into the individual student’s capabilities, so everyone could have a great experience, and that is amazing!”
