Countdown to Launch: Updates and Reviews

We’re just a month away from launching Ideaphora (out of beta)! In the meantime, we’ve made several updates to our concept mapping environment. Check them out through the new “try-for-free” feature that allows you to take a tour and get started using Ideaphora without registering.

To make Ideaphora even more intuitive, the platform has undergone a facelift, showcasing a cleaner look for easier navigation and new icons that better represent their functions. Additionally, the resource library now displays items in a visual list to make videos and articles of interest quick and easy to find. Ideaphora features a wealth of open education resources in its library, and is adding more every week, for educators and students to use in creating their concept maps. Users can also search these resources on a very granular level to find the exact spot a keyword is used in the material. For example, search the keyword “ice” and the results include an educational video with the exact timestamp for the point in the recording in which ice is mentioned, ready to play.

Once a user selects a resource from the library to use, or uploads their own material, relevant keywords and images are displayed that they can simply drag and drop into the mapping area to begin building their concept map. In doing so, users create meaningful connections between concepts and construct personalized knowledge from the digital content.

Teachers are raving about the new features and interface, giving Ideaphora 5 out of 5 stars in Edmodo Spotlight. Educators can easily access Ideaphora through Edmodo’s single sign-on platform. Since Ideaphora was released on Edmodo a few weeks ago, hundreds of teachers have installed Ideaphora to use the beta version.

At launch, we will offer annual subscriptions to Ideaphora for school and classroom use. Try Ideaphora now for free, or register for our free Classroom Pilot program to use our concept mapping environment with your students in summer school or the upcoming school year.
